Wierd Conversation

So I had a really weird conversation with my boss friday. He came up to me out of the blue, and asked me if I was happy with my job, where I would like to go, and if I had an interest in moving to the other press. then he left, without explaining what it was all about. So far as I can figure out there are no openings anywhere, and noone is making any plans to leave. It was all very strange. Hopefully in the next week or two I will get to see what that was all about.

Changes

It has been an interesting week that has brought out a few changes here at home. Last Saturday, while driving to Bountiful, my van overheated. Hopefully it isn't too bad, but at this point I know I have a cracked radiator, and at the very least blown head gaskets. I'm hoping there isn't a cracked head or anyhting like that. But for a while I am down to one vehicle, until I can afford to fix the van. Also in what I think is truly exciting news, Rachel has quit work, and is now going to stay home as a full time mom. I think this will be a good thing for our family, and am really looking forward to it.

Congrats are in order.

So there are a few sports "stars" who deserve a little congratulations for their efforts over the last little bit. First. Congratulations to Floyd Landis. His victory in the Tour this year is truly impressive. But the series I have truly been paying attention to and the congrats I really want to give is to Nicky Hayden. Who came home to Laguna Seca and laid down another impressive victory. With Valentino Rossi having to bow out to engine and tire problems it should give Nicky the championship. There are 6 races to go and if Nicky continues to be as consistent as he's been all season it should be his. So Congrats Nicky on getting it done when you needed to.

Hey

So what can I say. Just more of the same going on here. Got a new boss at work. Really don't know what I think about that. he almost never comes into the pressroom. He seems to make some really stupid decisions when he does do something though. Jayge bought a new bike. He got himself a road bike. He's been putting a lot of miles on it, so I guess that's a good thing. Wish he'd be a little bit more aggressive at trying to make some money to pay it off though. The two younger kids, Talon, and Alex start school next week. That's one of those really crazy things about year round schools. Amanda starts Junior High this year. (Can she really be that old?) And Jayge enters High School. (Am I really That Old?) Rachel has been working really hard to get into better shape. I'm really proud of her, she's been doing really well. Guess that's about it for an update. Not much I know, but it is something.

So I know I have said I don't really like naked bikes. But this Buell Firebolt is gorgeous. And it's only kinda a naked. Posted by Picasa
